It just occurred to me that chain saw tropes were a popular topic on the old boards, and a popular movie and video game trope. - and while the original team did examine chain saw vs zombies, there are several other tropes a future team could examine.
the most prominent ones I see are first, the use of a chain saw as a slashing weapon. people who use saws enough to understand how they function know this is not possible, but the movie myth persists.
the other one I see less routinely is the chain saw as a dueling weapon. that is one I would be curious to know just how capable it is and how resistant it would be to the chain breaking or derailing.
any other thoughts on the theme?

In the classic "Doom" games from the 1990s, they have the chainsaw available as a melee weapon.
Some versions of those games have it that when you plunge the chainsaw into an enemy, it can actually pull you into them as it cuts.

I can't speak for subsequent releases, because I didn't play them, but Knee Deep in the Dead seemed to have pretty accurate mechanics.

You all know how I feel about fantasy myths, but that said in real life, I don't believe a chainsaw would be a wise weapon of choice.

The only way for one to even be remotely practical would a battery powered electric one. A cord wold be a liability and gas ones are difficult enough to start on a good day, in the biddle of a fight, tiy are dead before it is going. A gas one would be most effective thrown.
