A very popular feature of the new "Doom" game is the Crucible Sword, a powerful melee weapon that the Doomslayer gets his hands on near the end.
Shadiversity is of the opinion that its unique design would perhaps have its advantages in battle, but that raises the question of how a metal sword of those proportions would fare against a more traditional design.

All depends on how bright it glows. Personally, I prefer a Glock.

I watched a few of the guy's videos I appreciate that he actually tests things, but at the same time, I question some of his conclusions as I interpret some of his observations different when filtered through my particular experiences.
I can see a small advantage in is ability to to hook things and strike around a shield. but I think that would be offset by the fact it is now lacking in the ability to do anything resembling a draw cut or a slash. if it is a typically gamer-chunky blade, it will also be tipheavy and sluggish as heck. pair it with heavy armor, and you can probably do some crushing, but it certainly doesn't go with my fighting style.
