This is a prototype for a new 24-hour meal kit for United States military service members who will represent the boots on the ground during the first 24 hours of a conflict.
The idea is that these individuals will be in the thick of it and so won't have time to actually sit and let anything heat up, so it all has to be something that can be eaten as-is.
The previous 24-hour kit had largely "natural" food items like a bagel, a chicken breast in a butter sauce, and beef taco wraps.
With this, however, everything has been heavily processed in a new way that is meant to essentially reduce it all to a food bar. This includes meat products like Buffalo-style chicken and a taco bowl.
