I haven't checked the morning news, it would be nice if 2023's problem went away, along with 2022's,, 2021's, and 2020's.

I haven't checked the morning news, it would be nice if 2023's problem went away, along with 2022's,, 2021's, and 2020's. Sadly, no dice. At some point after midnight US time, Japan got hit by a 7.6 off of its western coast. As for me, I was in the back painting some gaming miniatures & listening to a mixtape when my dad asked me to clear a jam in the printer. By the time I finished everything I went into the kitchen for a drink and noticed it was after midnight. I'm hoping that at the exact stroke of 12 I was still with the miniatures and not with the printer, as the former signifies creative endeavor while the latter signifies a year of fussy electronics. I suspect it may have been the latter, as this morning mom had a fit about the lawn needing to be mowed before we got rain again (it's been unseasonably warm) and that led to an argument because I was rushing to get it done so I could get on my tax paperwork and needed dad's help to troubleshoot an issue with the mower itself (somehow the mower had gotten banged around so hard a component in the engine had come loose).

So far since midnight local time:
*Finished painting the final tabletop gaming miniature in a boxed set I got myself for Christmas
*Helped dad troubleshoot an issue with the printer
*Watched WOW Women of Wrestling (seriously... KNCT-TV airs it at 1 AM on Mondays for some strange reason)
*Went to sleep
*Had a dream involving myself, a redhead, and a job opportunity, only to forget most of the lyrics to a song that was in the dream when I woke up
*Had breakfast with my parents
*Mom decided that the lawn needed to be mowed; it's been unseasonably warm so it had in fact grown a bit. She was sick with allergies, so I had to do it after dad and I spent an hour trying to troubleshoot why it wasn't working this time around. Cue various arguments as I needed to get on some tax paperwork and this was taking time.
*Got lunch
*Got cleaned up
*Did the tax paperwork
*Went from there on other tasks and correspondence.
Once I get finished, I'm going to get dinner and then run a few deliveries. The schools open back up tomorrow for a day of teacher inservice training ahead of the kids returning, and so I need to deliver the Newspapers In Education bundles I've been holding.
