Is YouTube moderated in the comments or do readers simply report "tacky, inappropriate" comments?
If reporting like that is how it works, could a pack of associated readers agree to "take down" some comment that they simply don't like by all agreeing to hit the report button one after another even if the comment doesn't actually break TOS?

I know with the original video, if enough complaints are received, it's supposed to be reviewed by a real person before it is taken down. As far as just the comments, I don't know. The OP can just turn the comments off.

Yes, that's *exactly* how YouTube works, not just with comments, but with the videos themselves. That's a big part of why so many content creators have been leaving the platform.

I know there is no proactive moderation. there doesn't seem to be much reactive moderation. I have seen content creators implying they play whack-a-mole with scammers, which indicates they have limited per post moderation abilities, but I don't know if there are platform moderators as well. I know bots pretty much have free rein.
