{Moved to viral videos since this comes from UTube - besides as of writing you get an entire board for your idea - CM){This has now been tested on the show. Although MB might well have got this idea from elsewhere I've decided to send this to Elysium anyway - CM}Edit... well, I seen the show, and how they went up-scale, impressed I am, I had no idea it would get that kind of results, but, heck, nice to see something like that. Where the show got its idea from, it would be nice to think they got it from here, but its still cool to think that could happen.Second Edit... where's me bloomin' gong for gettin' an idea on the show?...This is just so crazy it might just work?....

I wouldn't worry about it. This is a very straightforward idea where all the information MB could ask for is in the video, so there doesn't seem much to say beyond, well, 'Nice Catch' (again).

It's pretty cool, but considering the thought and source, it sounds like it's not a myth.
Unless, of course, some one is hoaxing in Purdue's name...

I recall seeing a similar device in college decades ago. Same principle to produce supersonic shock waves I believe.

Why not basketball and eliminate the need for conversions? Because we are British. Either adapt or be assimilated, resistance is futile.

Also, plastic kids footballs can be made very light, thus less mass to accelerate, which I presume is partly the reason why Ping-Pong ball works so well in the first place....

You think that scientists don't have a sense of humour? They most definitely do, but there's a world of difference between a joke and a hoax. One is fun, the other discredits your school. The Journal of Irreproducible Results is humorous, the Piltdown Man isn't.
