Other peoples Junk I tend to collect it, to be put in the "that will come in handy one day pile". I was recently trying to find a prism and found two sources, the first being an old pair of binoculars. The second an old 35mm SLR camera, one of those old soviet models. It also had an LDR (light dependent resistor), the parallax mirror? and of course the lens. The prisms are not ideal but when the light is refracted at the right angle you do get the separation of the different spectrum of light.

The SLR camera I disassembled was a Zenit, basically there were a few screws holding the top cover in place plus the various knobs screws of which either went through the top into a shaft or tightened at right angles onto a shaft. The prism is apparently called a pentaprism en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SLR_cameraThe mirror mechanism is screwed down from the top of the camera to give access to the reflex mirror perhaps for a periscope.
