Five feet because it blocks traffic? in Oregon, it is illegal to open the car door in such a manner it extends into the traffic lane - as my father found out when a guy opened his car door in such a way that it struck the spare tire on his cargo trailer, tearing off the door, and damaging the spare tire mount. it is one of those laws where enforcement is limited to defining the guy who opened the door as being at-fault. |
