I heard about this device some time ago. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wally_Mintoand it does work up to a certain scale, but not at a scale to be usefull. Could it be made useful?

They tested a large scale version of this in the Free Energy special - it didn't work.

*Pats* Mythbusters has aired 231 episodes to date, and no one can be expected to have caught or remember everything they have done. (Well, apart from the Producers )

Yeah your right I didn't remember the episode but did get to see a while back they used 6(?) LPG Barbecue cylinders. nothing like the original Minto wheel which were cylinders of about 100 mm d that ran around the circumference. The original design was more efficient, the condensing gas running down to the lower end of the cylinder instead of pooling at the apex. my.voyager.net/~jrrandall/MintoWheel.htmlBefore any one gets too excited, the energy available is that transferred to the LPG from the external water tanks.
