.
"According to statistics", as in, they cant verify this. You are more liable to be bitten by a Human than a dog......
Go on, show me, what are the stats, 'Cos I wont believe this until I see this...

This intrigued me enough to do a little research: "It is hard to estimate how common bites are as records are usually only kept of bites that were serious enough to require hospital treatment; which in England is around 6,000 cases of dog bites and 2,500 cases due to other bites, including human." Source: National Health Service (U.K.)

Yup, but saying that, I have been bitten about a dozen times by Dogs, and I just didnt count Humans, as babies and younger kids sometimes just dont know.....
Dog bites?.... my own dog has bit me accidentally a few times, from just a nip when he was a puppy to we both went for the same toy at the same time.
So this "Myth", where did it come from, and what stats are they quoting?....

You bring up an interesting point. Does a bite from a teething baby count? Or, do we only consider malicious bites from older humans?
Then again, for dogs, do we look at playful nips or just agressive bites?
I'd definitely say the original statement is weak as far as basis and scope.

I would say it depend son the human and the dog.
according to the best available statistics, the majority of dog bites in America re from chihuauas.
(the facts behind that is there is a huge number of undisciplined nippy chihuauas in America; and nobody does much of anything about it because they are too small to do any damage)
but I would be inclined to agree, unless teething babies count, (and nursing mothers) I don't see circumstances resulting in a human biting another human being more common than circumstances resulting in a dog biting a human until the zombie apocalypse.

I say as always, 90% of statistics are made up on the spot... (including that one).... As in, I would rather trace the source of that one and find out where they get there statistics from than find out "The truth", because I would doubt the truth even?.... As in, what counts?... and if Babies count, give them a maths exam.
I think that statement makes about the right amount of sense for this early in the morning. Onwards and sideways.
