Remember a while back I wondered what 'myths' from Star Wars might be testable on the show?
Same thing here, can you think of any scenes/myths from the Star Trek series or films that might be testable on Mythbusters?
The only idea I can think of is seeing how practical the bridge layout of the ships would be in reality. The Enterprise D's layout, for example, has the tactical officer (ie the guy who keeps the shields up and fires the weapons) standing behind a curved railing. This strikes me as a bad design since the tactical officer ends up having to work the controls with one hand while hanging on to the railing with the other so he doesn't end up on the floor when someone starts shooting at them. (You know, those times when you really need to keep the shields up and might want to fire the weapons.)
I do seem to recall something about the US Navy studying the bridge layout of the (original series) Enterprise at some point.

Haven't they already tested the impromptu gunpowder plus bamboo cannon with which Kirk so improbably defeated an improbable monster in an improbable story in an early series?

the bridge layout is completely dependent on the inertial dampeners - which become unstable under fire - leading to no end of comments about making a ship that can go multiples of the speed of light, but they can't figure out how to put seat belts on it.
of course, we know they have voice activated computers, touchscreens, automatic doors, hand portable data tablets, and needleless hypodermics, nowadays. the catch with star trek is that most of the stuff is either already in existence, or beyond mythbusters' tech level.
