very cool - but to nitpick - I'm not sure the machine was within the 10 meter by 10 meter space even when it was sitting on the ground.

Hmm. I read it as the goal being to build a machine that could fly to 3 meters altitude and have the pilot control it to land without moving more than 10 meters from the launch point. Thus, proving it really did hover instead of glide.

Agreed, but my real point was that as I read it, I didn't see anywhere that said the machine had to fit in that 10 meter space. As long as it didn't move more than 10 meters horizontally, they were safe (I guess).

No problem. Besides, it wouldn't exactly be the first time I misread a claim like this one.
I'm now trying to picture where they're going to display the copter. What's the Canadian equivalent of the Smithsonian?
