We had a mild ice storm here, we were lucky compared to a lot of folks. Anyway, I drove out to Pine Creek Lake with camera in tow and got this little photo: [/URL] It's actually a drop of ice, held by Spanish Moss.

Wow! That's a cool pic!
We had a little of the ice storm here as well. We got about a 1/4 inch of ice, then 3-4 inches of sleet on top of that. Then a glaze of freezing rain on top of that.
I need to get out and clean off my porches and steps.

that is a very cool pic. here, we started with a couple inches of snow, then it froze and didn't thaw. the advantage is that once the windshield is clear, it doesn't frost up again.
I tried to get a picture of the "meanwhile in Oregon" road, but it was too dark when we were going through.

They were claiming we would get 1-2 inches today. So far we had 4 when I took the dog out, and it is still coming down. They just announced on the radio that the local police do not want anyone on the roads except emergency personal. Reads are a mess. Still not sure why no one bothered to pre-treat for this storm.
I'm hoping to go out and shovel in a few hours here. I'll get another measurement them. Guess who forgot to get gas for the snow blower?

Amazingly, we only had three snow related incidents - and one of them was a guy who slipped and hurt his back.

Roads are better at the moment but they are calling for ice tonight. Most of the area schools have already cancelled, except for my son's district. Turns out I sill had some summer lawn mower gas left over, enough to fire up the blower. About 5.5 inches at my place. We'll see how what we get overnight.

It's so delicate it looks like a glass sculpture or a fine piece of jewellery!

In terms of lack of speed on the road? It couldn't get much slower.... I stalled 3 times because we were going that slow and I drive a stick.

I effin' hate it when people drive slower than I can idle in first gear. It's especially obnoxious when I am driving the parade engine with its heavy clutch. but no, I was talking about the condition of the roadway.

Ok, that much is true. Which is what drove me nuts for the entire 90 minutes it took me to get to work - there was no need for it.
