Just saw the film this weekend (14 March) as part of my job as a reviewer.
*The film revisits the "tearing the rear axle off of a cop car" myth (tested back in season one) by having Tobey (Aaron Paul) connect a chain to a cop car's rear axle, as opposed to a steel cable like in the original myth.
*Tobey and Julia (Imogen Poots) are driving through Utah when they are set upon by bounty hunters. One pair, who are driving a truck, decide to stop them by having the passenger lean out the window and shoot their car with a shotgun. Given that they are driving on rough terrain at the time, would the passenger even remain perched in the window, let alone be able to hit their car?
As an aside, the film also revisits the "driver and passenger switching seats" bit when, due to previous incidents, Tobey and Julia run late in getting to California and must make up time by having Julia drive while Tobey sleeps.

Yep; straight-up axle as near as I could tell.

The film has NO CGI at all.....?.... Myth or absolute truth?....
No CGI, This has been made clear... several times... by various stars and other people involved with the film....
The cars that were trashed were expensive body doubles, they are not vandals, but otherwise, CGI was not used on this film....
What, not even the slightest tiniest bit to say cover up the tow lines for a driver-less stunt car?...

It's my understanding that no CGI was used at all; this was 100% old-school stunt work.
