Please forgive me if I am putting this in the wrong forum, and by all means please feel free to move it to the correct one. I saw this 'invisible' Land Rover bonnet and had to share. I think it's pretty cool!

Please forgive me if I am putting this in the wrong forum, and by all means please feel free to move it to the correct one. I saw this 'invisible' Land Rover bonnet and had to share. I think it's pretty cool! You can already buy cars equipped with a camera system hat lets you see your vehicle from above. So you can park it like an RC toy since you can see everything. The "trick" are numerous cameras mounted around the vehicle and a computer which generates a virtual picture "from above". Here's a clip from a game show where they made a game out of one of those 360° camera systems. Unlike the one in the picture above, the more simple version is already available for reasonably priced cars. www.t-online.de/tv/myspass/id_63351510/blindes-einparken-bei-schlag-den-raab-.htmlThis game is called "blind parallel parking", all the windows of the cars are painted black.

That is very neat! I think the helmet system of the F-35 uses this technology using the Electro-Optical Distributed Aperture System (EO-DAS). The pilot is able to see behind the plane and through the floor.
