Tory might have a job with the Travel Channel. He had retweeted some pictures from upstate NY just before the Emmys about a cave with a never ending flame and the person who took the photos had captioned them as Tory being there with a TC film crew. His latest images are from Burning Man.

However Grant attended Dragoncon, and in a brief YouTube clip from that he mentioned that he now lives in Hollywood. My Google-fu has failed me - can you link us to the clip, please?

For those asking what the build team is doing. Kari is currently filming in Hawaii. No news on exactly what she is filming, but the fact that she doesn't seem to have mentioned a show would tend to imply to me that it is something new. Grant and Tory don't appear to have been involved in this. I would point out that it is possible that they might be doing the same show, but filming separately. However Grant attended Dragoncon, and in a brief YouTube clip from that he mentioned that he now lives in Hollywood. As I think it is unlikely that Kari would be willing to move from SF, since she has a kid and the rest of her family is in that area. I suspect that Grant is not involved in whatever Kari is doing. It would also make sense, as Kari is probably the better choice to host a new show. don't forget the rumor that grant was on the team running R2D2 in the last set of Star Wars movies.

Here's the link I was trying to find where Tory is working for the Travel Channel -
And thanks, Cyber. I don't know why that didn't turn up in my searching....

Star Wars wasn't mentioned at all during his Q and A, but a lot of online stuff he was thinking about doing was.

On the plus side, this could mean additional shows to watch. Good Luck Team 7.

Thinking about, not actually/automatically doing at this time.
I know that there is a new droid in the latest film, since this droid is also going to appear in the animated kids show. I also know that they have already built the live action version of that, as it appeared at a press conference earlier in the year (pre-com-con) alongside R2. In neither case does it appear as if Grant was involved, and in fact I suspect that Grant was still at M7 when they were developing the droids for the film.
That said I have been hearing rumors that they were looking at developing (or redeveloping) a live action SW series for some time. If they were going to do this Grant would be a good choice. He has both the experience in developing live action droids for SW, probably knows a lot of the effects guys and is used to having to produce 'droids' in a few days rather than in a few months or year - something I'd guess the rest of ILM doesn't really have.
As there appears to be nothing on this beyond distant rumors, which given the interest in the films and the promotion of Star Wars Rebels (the animated series), it would hardly be surprising if Grant isn't saying anything. If the series is being developed it clearly hasn't reached the casting stage, and probably hasn't been green lit yet.
Grant might also be involved in Star Trek; Renegades, which is a fan-based attempt to restart the ST universe. (He is actually in the pilot/film). If there is some interest in picking this up as a series* Grant might end up being attached to it, as he might if it just ends up as a web based series.
I'm wondering if Kari is also doing a travel channel show, there is nothing preventing Kari and Tory from doing the same show. And if it is travel related it would actually make sense for them to be filming independently of each other. Either a series who's episodes are split between them, or where they each act as the host for alternate episodes. We know from the interview Kari did that she wanted to travel, so I can see her being interested in such a show - and I think Stella is now old enough that having mommy away for a few weeks at a time isn't going to be a major issue.
(*This is questionable. There clearly is interest in developing a new Star Trek series, Michel Dorn (Lt Worf) pitched an idea for a new Trek series and has or was apparently taken seriously**. The question would be as to what direction they want a TV ST series to go in. Dorn's version we know nothing about, beyond it staring Captain Worf. Renegades however appears to be a somewhat darker and more adult tone than we are used to from Trek - and something I think is badly needed***. I'm wondering if the studio is waiting to see how Renegades is received before they decide if that want something a little 'darker' or closer to more traditional Trek.)
(**This is not that surprising. When Enterprise was cancelled I predicted on another board that Trek would not get another TV series for around 10-15 years, with two or three films being released in the meantime to keep the franchise burning. The last of the 'new' films is due to be released in 2016, so I would expect a new series to appear in 2016/17 to capitalize on marketing and hype from that film. As development time for Trek series appears to have been around 18 months to 2 years this would mean that development of a series would probably take place in mid to late 2014 to mid 2015. As Renegades is due for release in early 2015 this would fit in well with this idea. The studio would be able to see how that pilot was received and then decide if they should pick that up, or look at developing something different - and it would not cost them anything to do this)
(***Of the four series released since the late 80's the only one not to have been badly dated is Deep Space Nine. The other three followed a much more traditional Trek structure and tone that harkened back to the original series. Given the fairly low viewing figures for Voyager and Enterprise, even with the amount of marketing both series got, and the almost none-existent marketing for DS9 which still drew in more viewers than Voyager even though it had a somewhat darker and less traditional tone. I'd expect a new Trek series to be somewhat more 'adult', or at least darker and somewhat more serious in tone, than we have been used to. This doesn't mean that the shows can't or couldn't be fun or have fun moments, or maybe that should be 'shouldn't lack' fun/funny moments - Enterprise attempted the serious route in its third season and fell flat. DS9 managed to have both serious and fun moments and worked very well. A discussion for elsewhere methinks)

true, although with the subject breached, I have to comment that I felt Enterprise was deeply flawed, and that was its downfall. in fact, one of my pipe dreams of making movies and TV would be to do a remake of the series which would start with taking the entire Enterprise series, sets and all, and throwing it in the incinerator.
That said, does Grant being at Dragoncon mean he is not working with the current Star Wars movies? the summer after The Phantom Menace was released, I happened to meet an ILM member at a weekend event in Oregon, far from wherever they were working on Attack of the Clones at any given time. not that this proves anything in either direction, and in fact, my curiosity does not go much beyond idle speculation - I figure I'll find out when I find out, much like I stumbled across Sanctuary, and the various things the cast of Firefly moved on to.

I like that last comment from Discovery: “We are all big fans of Kari — as well as Tory and Grant — and are looking for other projects where we can work with them.”
Let's hope they're not just saying that to shut the fans up, but actually mean it.

I like that last comment from Discovery: “We are all big fans of Kari — as well as Tory and Grant — and are looking for other projects where we can work with them.” Let's hope they're not just saying that to shut the fans up, but actually mean it. Discovery knows that they are well liked and experienced, so why wouldn't they be looking for ways to use that? The catch is in finding a show that they are interested in doing, I'm guessing that Kari for one would/will be highly sought after as a presenter for any science-related shows. And is probably (based on the interview she did for TC) also interested in travel shows (which it seems she was doing over the summer, although it is not clear if this was a 'special' or a series). The catch of course is that she has a kid, and I'd guess that she probably wouldn't want to spend too much time away from home or relocate from SF. (Grant has relocated to LA from what I can tell) Grant I suspect might not be interested in hosting a show, and I think is more likely to end up doing Star Trek. He is both involved in the 'continuing voyages' (or whatever it is called), which is a net based continuation of the original series and in which he plays Sulu - a series that appears to have a LOT of backing from a lot of Trek actors. He is also involved in another Net based trek project that *might* end up being picked up as a TV series, as again it has a lot of backing from former Trek actors (Tim Russ appears as Tuvok). If it did get picked up* he'd probably end up involved in the production side of that. Which would make sense both because of his Trek knowledge and because he might well be able to provide ideas as to how to create high quality effects without breaking the bank (which was a problem for Enterprise). Tory...I'm not sure about him. He does seem to be filming something, but like Kari it is unclear as to if this is a special or actual series. He might be more open to a travel show (which it does seem as if he is making or involved in) and in fact I think he would be a very good choice for such a show. (*There is another project involving Micheal Dorn in some stage of development. The feedback both projects are giving does seem to indicate that they are now interested in developing a new Trek series - it would be about ten years since Enterprise, and such a series would probably end up on the small screen around the same time as the last of the 'new' Trek films. What is unclear is which of the two projects might be picked, or if something else is in the works. Best guess is that they are waiting to see how the project Grant is involved in does before making a decision - since that would in effect be a free pilot for the studio.)

Here's what Kari is up to: sweet. I'd love to see the science of thrill rides. I could enjoy that for at least a full season, if it toured to different rides.
