here, they have a business called "malibu grand prix" where they put you in a miniature car powered by a snowmobile engine, and let you drive like a twit for a very reasonable price. You still have a Malibu? The one up here went out of business and is now a Car Max.

The lawnmower test is something they've had in the can for some time as well -- I know I saw some mini-myth footage on the Discovery site several months ago. As I recall, "you didn't test hands-free" was a common complaint after the cell phone vs drunk driving episode. I remember Adam posting some photos online about this over a year ago. This one has been sitting for a while.

This one has been sitting for a while. I now work for several firms that will not phone the driver at all unless its a real emergency. They use coms via the pad the driver used to log his calls with, and make sure the driver is stopped before he answers any "we need to talk" messages. This is much better. You just drive without ijurt phone calls "Have you got [xyz]on board" and expect you to check whilst doing 55 on a stretch of motorway with no stops for the next 20 miles....

I consider driving on that road to be the equivalent in bad judgement to to trying to rob the police station.

As I recall, "you didn't test hands-free" was a common complaint after the cell phone vs drunk driving episode. I remember Adam posting some photos online about this over a year ago. This one has been sitting for a while. It isn't unusual for shows to be aired a year after they were filmed or close to that. The A-Team special was filmed around March 2014 but not aired until January 2015 for example. This is both a result of how long it takes to edit episodes and probably Discovery holding off on airing some episodes until they fit with what else is being aired (or are more relevant to a particular time of year). The shortest gap I know of was the Mini-Myth Special with the Gorn Cannon myth, which aired some four months after it was filmed. Compare this to most TV series who usually start filming around three to four months before the series starts, and which usually end up (if they are lucky) finishing about a month before the season ends. The difference is due to MB not being a scripted show. The editing for a normal TV series is helped by working off a script, so the editor knows what the story is and from that can make good calls as to anything that needs to get cut. On MB the story can change during filming, so the editor has to work out what the overall story is before they decide what parts need to be included.

What they do to the thing?.... it shrunk?... During the 1980s, a lot of "classic" muscle cars were infamously re-worked into mediocre sedans. Just compare, for example, a "classic" Mustang with a 1980s Mustang. Those badges that weren't retired after this were slowly re-introduced in the 1990s and early 2000s as proper sports vehicles again, but the 1980s and early 1990s versions are still with us.
