**Caution** this contains bad language. www.theguardian.com/media/2015/mar/20/jeremy-clarkson-foul-mouthed-rant-bbc-top-gearFootage of a charity auction, and a news report. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for more storied on the subject. **NOT reported** The other two were ordered by the BBC producers to do the rest of the show, asnd the remaining shows, without Jeremy... They refused. They say it wont be the same without him. Jeremy has also gone to the home of the producer involved to make apologies on his own behalf, (no media people were invited it was not a publicity stunt, it was a genuine offer to sort this out) the door was slammed in his face. This is real... £D printable head replacements are available for Hungry Hippo's....

"an assault which hospitalized a producer" - who drove himself to the hospital for a fat lip and alleges other unprovoked hostility from Clarkson. it is a bit late for it but I find myself wondering if I were a fly on the wall would I agree it was unprovoked, or would I find that the producer was being a bit of a yobbo

Can Clarkson be an verbally offensive and/or aggressive blowhard? Sure. Is Clarkson just going to start beating someone up? I'm not so sure of that.

I note that you all seem to have very low opinions of Producers.
Producers seem to often get a bad rap, most likely this is because they are the ones who make changes to shows and these changes can often result in beloved cast members leaving or being replaced. We tend to relate to the cast because they are visible, where as producers are not; I'm guessing for example that most of you have no idea what Dan Tapster looks like even though he's been running Mythbusters for the better part of a decade. Likewise when the build team left MB the complaints were mostly directed at the producers of the show, even though all the information we have seems to indicate that they had nothing to do with that.
Are there 'bad' producers? Sure. But here is the thing; if you are THAT bad a producer news will get around very quickly and no one will want to work with you. It is the same with directors, with more than one top-notch director finding it difficult to get or retain actors because they have poor reputations. And actors themselves can find it hard to get work if they get bad reputations. Robert Downey Jr's role in Iron Man was something that the studio fought against due to his poor reputation at the time.
Of course with actors or cast members on shows a degree of ego can creep in, as they are the ones the fans tend to run to and praise since they know what they look like. This doesn't seem to happen very often with producers, as they are much more likely to be replaced than the actors on a show. You just have to look at MB to see how many producers they have gone through over the years. The only shows I can think of off the top of my head where the producers did seem to fall into the ego trap was Star Trek. The producers of TNG were the same as for Voyager and the first three seasons of Enterprise.

[side, this is Dan?] The main TG producer, "Andy", and that is, I think (sound of internet search for correct spelling ) Andrew Wilman, is the guy who dragged the seminal slow almost boring Top Gear out of the mud and into the thing it is today, so, no, not all TG producers are that bad. As for the "Sustained verbal assault", that is rumored to have lasted half an hour, is reported to have gone on nearly that long, but took his co-presenters to intervene.... Dont care who you are, I aint staying around for that long if your being that nasty?... And who else would?. I suspect he wasnt that "innocent", I suspect the argument went both ways. NEITHER of them have said even "Jeremy went too far". What made Jezza blow up?... Will we ever know? Only the people who were there at the time know their own versions of the truth. And they have their own reasons for seeing it that way. Jezza may have personal reasons. The other two cast may have loyalty reasons. You cant have spent time in a war zone together (The exit of argentina under death threats was a war zone plain and simple) without a LOT of bonding, that cast has been together happily for many years, has survived much that we can only look back at as near death experience (Namely the Hamster and his top fuel dragster crash) and have explored more of the world than I am ever going to see. Together. And I include all of the crew there, the whole OB approx 3tons of equipment, (As reported as needing out of Argentina that time) its handlers, the chase vehicle drivers, even those who just do the paperwork to get them through international borders. Will they stay together?... Will they walk together? (Away from the show). Will they set up under a different brand elsewhere. Only time will tell. Bugger of the thing is, its a 18yr waiting list for tickets to the show.... I have been waiting 17-and-a-half years.... Well, not exactly, but my good friend was expecting a set of tickets for this production run, or the next.....

my understanding was that it had to do with an absence of catering at the end of a shooting day. my presumption would be that Clarkson had the expectation that this producer would have arranged the catering. my next auestion would be whether Clarkson's dismissal will make the problem get bigger or smaller. if he has been feeling targeted, then he may well decide to take those he considers the source of the trouble down with him.

All of the three cast members were due to have their contracts renewed this year. This, combined with a drive by the BBC to lower presenter wages, makes me suspect that they might take the opportunity to revamp the show both in front of and behind the cameras. (They've done this before)
The fact that the show has been in the news several times in the last few years for all the wrong reasons, and in at least one case this seems to have been down to poor decisions from producers, also makes me think that the production staff will largely be changed.

But, will people follow Top Gear without the trio of Clarkson, May & Hammond? Heck, do you they want to see it without just Clarkson?
The BBC needs to proceed carefully because too drastic of an overhaul can result in lost viewership, which will lead to lost corporate sponsorships, lost revenue, and so on...
The BBC's financial situation appears to be tenuous as things sit right now, but one misstep could be final nail in the BBC's fiscal coffin.

Which both lead back to the video I posted of Jeremy at a Charity event ranting "They took a good show and fork-lifted it up" and other such things including bad language. I may not like how he says it, but I agree with what he said, they are a shower of ------------
Thats the thing with Jeremy, he may come across as a foul mouthed lout at times, but, if you take time to look at what he is trying to get across, take away the field of flowery language, most often he is bang-on right about what he is saying.
Oh well, there is a general election coming up.... Jeremy Clarkson for PM!

I'll just have to visit London before he officially moves to Downing Street... I have a plan I want to put to him that requires all american cars to be shrunk to fit UK roads. And converted to right-hook drive. And have engines that can do minimum double digits in the MPG stakes.
