today I learned that WD-40 used to be packaged with propane as the propellant, but to make it safer, they have switched to using CO2 as the propellant. this from a youtube video regarding its use as a starting fluid. - which, at least in a gas engine, doesn't work any more. If the propellant doesn’t come out until all the WD-40 is used up, I don’t see why it would matter.

If the propellant doesn’t come out until all the WD-40 is used up, I don’t see why it would matter. I suspect it dissolves in the liquid, much like CO2 dissolves in soda, only at higher vapor pressures.
