I believe you are right about the Ewok swinging tree trap. The ram was swinging and rather large.

Check out the sneak peek video on Discovery; dsc.discovery.com/tv-shows/mythbusters/videos/2014-sneak-peek.htmThis confirms that the Ewok tree trap was indeed tested for the Star Wars special. From the other clips on there it seems that in this season they will also be testing Ice Cannon and Supersonic Ping Pong ball, both of which were posted on here. Playing tennis on an aircraft wing seems to be another test they did, although that wasn't posted on here I have seen the picture taken back in the 1920/30's that has been doing the rounds. American viewers might be happy to notice that one of the 'missing' episodes from early last year, about the best way to board a plane, will at last be screened in the US. It had been screened in either Australia or the UK but not the US for some reason.

I figure if they put a commercial on TV they are pretty sure this time. And the link you provided has pics which also give the 4th as date. Also the pics of the show gives some clues as to what they are busting. dsc.discovery.com/tv-shows/mythbusters/photos/mythbusters-m5-star-wars-photos.htmOn the commercial last night they previewed where Luke and Princess Leia swing to freedom and something about a battering ram. Ladies and Gentlemen, go take a close look at those pictures...Then go read the Star Wars Challenge thread on here again from the start. Death Star Swing - Posted in the OP Using a Tautaun to keep Luke warm - Posted in the thread, in fact going off the pictures it looks like their test rig is similar to some of the ideas that were batted around here. So it seems that someone at MB did catch the thread, and took at least two ideas from us*. (*Well, we don't know that they actually took the ideas from here. They could have picked those scenes/ideas out themselves. But lets pretend shall we... ) The advert I've been able to pull up online (via UTube) indicates that it is a special two part episode. So chances are they tested more myths than are show - increasing the possibility that they included some of the other ideas that were posted. Incidentally, mention of a 'battering ram' makes me wonder if they decided to test the Ewok swinging tree trap myth that was posted in the thread. I seem to recall saying something about that being the ideal 'big build' for such an episode. if you are right - we rule. edit: the teaser clips do, indeed, imply it is the swinging trees.

well, being sworn to secrecy can be such an inconvenience... now we are all going to have to watch extra close to see if a point we made got onto the show.
