Adam did a Reddit AMA today and stated that the show will be back in January. Guess Disco didn't want to interrupt all that Alaska Gold stuff... link to AMA

hmm.... I wonder if they're basing their scheduling on whose facebook page is getting the most hits - and by going where we can have intelligent conversations; we are actually missing showing Disco support for the show...

And for a show that has been a solid ratings producer for its 10 year run, it seems like it is being mis-treated. At least the Science Channel will be running an all day marathon tomorrow.
Hmm... I wonder if it will move over to Science?

I set my DVR to record new and repeats, all channels. No matter where it goes, there I am.

Not sure, but here in the US, it seems like everything Disco shows is about moonshiners or Alaska.

There is far too much "reality" on disco nowadays, and only a few decent shows left. I do like some of the alaska stuff, like flying wild alaska(sadly discontinued) since it combined both my interest in flying and northern climates

...and, as an added bonus, they gave Bear "I sleep in hotels & deceive my viewers" Grylls a new show.

To be fair to Palin, that wasn't her original quote.
IIRC, her original quote was more along the lines of "Russia and Alaska are so close that you can see one from the edge of the other."

It actually provided her more experience than a junior senator from Illinois received, because she, as commander-in-chief of the Alaska National Guard, was given access to information about Russia and North Korea that other governors would not receive. We now return you to the thread about Discovery programming. The only "Alaska-esque" show I watch is Gold Rush (go Parker!).

I'm wondering if this is maybe MB's downfall.

I'm wondering if this is maybe MB's downfall. I doubt it even the No0bs @ Discovery aren't dumb enough to kill the 'Golden Goose'. Mythbusters is one of their 'BIGEST' income earners. The ONLY way I can see the show ending is if the Mythbusters themselves say we've had enough & don't want to do this any more.
