We all know each other because of our shared interest in the show, but what else do you watch? What do you find interesting, educational, thought provoking or just plain old funny? And why?
What TV shows, documentaries and movies can you recommend? Or NOT recommend if you've seen something really bad.
Please describe why you like/dislike something to give the rest of us not only a description of your opinion, but of yourself as well.
EDIT: Discussing why you like or don't like certain things that others have posted is allowed, of course. Just keep it civil and respect that others may (and have the right to) like/dislike things that you feel differently about.

I'll start:
Comedy:
I like "How I Met Your Mother" right now. It's a fun show with a different take on the way to tell a lovestory - namely backwards. The writing is original and the actors are pretty good compared to a lot of what else is out there right now.
Educational:
"Through the Wormhole" with Morgan Freeman is a good show that aims to explain pretty complex things like black holes and quantum theory in layman's terms, but (in my opinion) succeeds in doing so without dumbing it down too much.

Comedies, I love "Raising Hope", though not as much as the first season. I was also a big "Earl" fan, so I guess it's no surprise.
And of course "Big Bang Theory". Oddly enough, Leonard is my least favorite character. I think Galecki tends to over-do the character just a bit. Sort of a nerdy version of David from Roseanne.
I've seen a few episodes of "How I Met Your Mother", and although it was enjoyable I can't seem to get into it.
For dramas, I watch "Breaking Bad" and "Walking Dead".
I used to be devoted to the Sunday night Fox animated lineup, but what with Mythbusters changing nights, I've kind of fallen out of that habit. The only one I really miss is "Bob's Burgers". Hilarious.
Other than Cartoon Network, that's the only first-run stuff I watch.
Oh, and "Archer", on the rare occasions they have new episodes.

I hadn't figured you for a "Big Bang Theory" type of person... Not my cup of tea, but fair enough. I'm checking out that "Bob's Burgers" thing. When you say Fox animation lineup, what else do you mean? I'm a BIG Simpsons fan myself. Got the first 22 seasons on DVD

I'd never even seen Big Bang until this past year, when it started getting discussed over at Disco. I got curious, and now I can't get enough of it.
Simpsons, American Dad, Family Guy, Bobs Burgers all run on Fox network on Sunday nights here (of course, the first 3 are all pretty much the same show). King of the Hill used to be part of it as well, but that one wasn't much to my taste.
I'd suggest Netflix streaming for Bob's Burgers, but I don't know if that's an option in Denmark.

My name is Cijay and...I've been a Gleek for 3 years now. I didn't intend on it being a habit but Mr Shu's dedication to the kids and when they sang To Sir, With Love... sigh

I will admit that, outside Mythbusters, I am addicted to NCIS. My feelings for the offshoot NCIS:LA depend on the episode.
For more horror/macabre drama, I am a fan of American Horror Story (Brought to you by the same guys who gave you Glee...go figure!)
For comedy, I'm still a fan of South Park & Family Guy.

I don't really watch much telly these days...too busy with an IT postgrad course. That said, I do watch the following (not in any particular order): Daytime/Entertainment/Comedy: Top Gear - as much for the WMD-grade bull-plop as anything else. Red Dwarf - it's smegging brilliant! The Simpsons - it's an excellent satire of human nature.
Crime: Castle - it's pretty quirky. Murdoch Mysteries - there's a surprising amount of science in the show, or at least the science that was known at the end of the 19th Century.
Sci-fi/Action: Stargate SG-1 - it is an awesome show, and I love the way Jack O'Neill trolls every Gao'uld he comes across (especially Ba'al). Doctor Who - come on, it's Doctor Who! What reason do I need to give?
Apart from that, it's really a matter of "what's on, and am I bothered to watch?"

I'm with you on Top Gear. Mostly because watching the guys poke fun and run practical jokes on each other in the most juvenile ways imaginable is just plain funny I love Castle too. Don't know why actually... When you think it through, there's really nothing original about it. But it's good fun, so who cares, right? What's Red Dwarf?

It's a British sci-fi comedy series. The basic idea is that the last known living human is stuck in space with a holographic projection of his dead bunkmate, a member of a species of humanoid that evolved from cats, and a robot. Hilarity frequently ensues. EDIT: Cyber got there ahead of me. Must be all those god-like powers

In terms of comedy style, can anyone compare it to something else one might know? I'm a HUGE fan of The Black Adder series, so if it's anything like that, I'm game

I love Castle, probably one of my favorite shows on TV. I like the cleverness (although some of that has dropped off) and humor that comes from the situations. I also enjoy NCIS and Criminal Minds. I think Criminal minds is a disturbing show and not sure I like that I like it, but it's very well written and I think the actors do a great job. Not a fan of the new person on the show, but beyond that, I still like it.

I've followed Criminal Minds and I've loved it from day 1. Like all shows, it's declining a little though. What turned me on to the show initially was the in-depth psych analyzes they made every time in the first two or three seasons. Granted, the storyline has become a little more action packed over the years, but they've sacrificed a lot of the cool psychological analyzes to make room for it and that's sad. I don't like the new girl much either, but Garcia makes up for it by trying to buddy with her. I love Garcia. Quirky, chubby, cute girl with the biggest heart in the world

Yeah, she's a fun character for sure. As is Reed, hard not to like him.

Yeah, Reed is fun I can't remember, have they ever said anything about him possibly having Asperger's? He acts a lot like he does.

In fact they did, the last episode the new girl implied that he does. They didn't really resolve that though and have for now, decided to keep you guessing.

I'd recommend QI to anybody who wants to learn stuff whilst having a laugh.
I also never miss...
Doctor Who Have I Got News For You Never Mind The Buzzcocks New Tricks and would you believe Strictly Come Dancing (the original British version of Dancing With The Stars)..!
I never watch... any soaps 'talent contests' 'paranormal' programmes (ie ghost hunting, psychic crap) and Top Gear, which is too awful for words.
