a bit of follow up on the fourth of July fire - it turn out they had a whole cooler full of pies specially made for a wedding - and we saved the pies.

wonder what fresh chaos we will have this fourth... Well, the board wasn't working for a while earlier today, likely due to the host itself having some sort of drama. Hopefully this is the worst of it. |

For me -
Because we're hiring time on someone else's presses, Tuesday's newspapers were actually printed last Friday evening and dropped off sometime after Midnight Saturday.
I rolled into the office at 10 AM Saturday morning to process my portion, only to find that someone had shut off the air conditioning for the weekend; it's an electronic control system and I don't have the pass code, so I had to do everything in the Texas heat with no AC. I'll be asking for that pass code when people come back in on Tuesday.
I'll be delivering the papers themselves tonight. I figure if I go out around 7 PM, it'll be early enough that there's still sun out (few people do fireworks before dark) but late enough that most businesses will be closed and most people will either be at home or awaiting the local demonstrations.

Some A-Hole Youtube rapper decided to shoot up the Fourth of July parade in a suburb just north of Chicago. 6 dead and 36 injured. I am normally not a proponent of the death penalty, but I am beginning to think that in some cases, public executions may be in order. |

I am normally not a proponent of the death penalty, but I am beginning to think that in some cases, public executions may be in order. did they finally get a motive out of him? at first glance, yesterday, I thought there had been multiple mass shootings, but it apparently was just media from other places trying tor "reaction videos" as for the death penalty; if there is no other way to stop a person or animal from being a danger to society, then it is sometimes necessary to remove the person or animal from society. |

if he couldn't legally buy the gun in the city where he lived, and he bought it legally, he must have bought it in a neighboring area. and I'm sure he was trying to hide the neck tattoos. |

The little bit I'm hearing is that he was a would-be rap artist who frequently engaged in political satire and what he regarded as "comedy" skits. He's apparently quite tattooed, and his clothing may indeed have been meant to hide them. |

The little bit I'm hearing is that he was a would-be rap artist who frequently engaged in political satire and what he regarded as "comedy" skits. He's apparently quite tattooed, and his clothing may indeed have been meant to hide them. From what I've read, his father helped him get his first gun. This was after he threatened to kill everyone in the family and had a stash of daggers and swards confiscated by the police and after he tried to commit suicide. Yet he was still able to buy guns on his own. Someone has some splannin' to do. |
