the parks department still hasn't fixed the fire road I use to put out all the campfires people build in the driftwood and abandon after the fireworks. I figure schedule a tanker for midnight and bill the parks department.

Can you schedule the flight of the tanker for just after the fireworks start? That should make for an interesting time for the partiers.

I haven't gotten permission from the chiefs, yet... that said, I'm off to prep the parade engine - by which I mean see if the mechanic got the battery changed, so it'll start.

Can you schedule the flight of the tanker for just after the fireworks start? That should make for an interesting time for the partiers. It will make an "Interesting" flight for the Tanker pilot as well?... Dunno how this pans out now, but SOP was there was no low-level flights scheduled for our own Nov 5th fireworks parties over here... whilst I was with them anyway... in fact, during "silly season" of bonfire night week/fortnight, RAF suspend all scheduled low-level flights and stay above 1,000 ft....minimum...

It will make an "Interesting" flight for the Tanker pilot as well?... Dunno how this pans out now, but SOP was there was no low-level flights scheduled for our own Nov 5th fireworks parties over here... whilst I was with them anyway... in fact, during "silly season" of bonfire night week/fortnight, RAF suspend all scheduled low-level flights and stay above 1,000 ft....minimum... so: the coasties were too busy to do a flyover for the parade, so the local air ambulance filled in. the neighbors to the north got an air national guard flyby, and then they apparently figured while they were in the area, they'd see what else was going on. so we got a flyby from them, too - though not so close. the parade was slower than usual, which left me with the usual feeling of having had to kick start a John Deere, but twice as soon. since we still don't have a fire road, we had people explaining to revelers NOT to build their fires in the middle of the driftwood, and so actually got done with the final sweep early. we had three crashes, some kids who weren't stuck on the rocks, and a couple medical calls. and my quick attack blew out the fitting on the turbo again. I'll post the pics of our local mad max truck later.

ouchie, belated happy "freedom day" to you guys We didn't have any bonfires this year on midsummer's eve either, too dry. Though some idiot across the lake tried, was fun to see the flashy blue/red lights 5 mins after it lighted.....some people don't understand you can see smoke from a LONG LONG way.
