I have a bad vertebrae in my back, meaning that it's getting harder to just sit in one spot for the longer movies.
This? I had to ask someone to go see it with me in case I just have to move around or even leave.

I'm checking the listings for the local theater, and unless something changes at the last minute it's looking like Tuesday the 16th will be the final round of screenings for "Captain Marvel".
On the surface, it looks like they don't want it competing with Avengers, which comes out on the 28th. But normally the final night for any film getting dropped is Thursday. They only drop something on a Tuesday if it's being cut to make room for a Wednesday new release; there *is* a religious movie coming out on the 17th, but the theater's got listings up clear through the 18th and it's not there.
If they're halting "Captain Marvel" two days early on the off-chance they get that religious movie, that's a heck of a bet.

Various people online have been making hay out of how Larson and others have been behaving towards one another during publicity events, leading to a body language expert analyzing one sequence.
Nutshell: In the expert's opinion, Larson's defensiveness is likely a result of her inability to read other people. She assumes people are sniping at her when they aren't, doesn't recognize it when they are, and tries to assert dominance when she doesn't need to.
If Larson's been acting like this towards other people on set, then it'd explain reports that some of the other cast members don't like her.

I only know one word, well two actually, that I can express in body language. And you don't need an expert to interpret what it means.

I've got a bit bigger vocabulary than that. it's still pretty clear, though. but I know a lot of people who are eager to choose the worst possible interpretation to anything.

"see how her jacket is zipped up to her chin and her hands are in her pockets. that's definite defensive behavior. now I've gotta go inside and get out of this cold"

Not a household name, at least not around my household. In fact, I had to look up who she was.

I had to create an account for Quora to actually read something someone posted, and now I get a daily "best of" e-mail.
That was one of the questions that came on the most recent one.

The thing about a question like that is its a leading one, those that dislike Brie Larson are most likely to respond.
Meanwhile,Captain Marvel has taken $1.1 billion at the box office, enough people seem to think something is going right.

It's also a good source of "true confessions" - type stories, as those keep not only cropping up as well but actually hitting the home page. ...And some of them are answers to questionably specific questions as well... "What's the naughtiest thing you've done as an adult?" type questions and all that.

Update:
"Alita" was released to DVD in the US last Tuesday, and all reports are indicating that copies are flying off the shelves. In particular, retail chain Best Buy is completely sold out of their store-exclusive steel book sets, and individual Best Buy stores are experiencing runs on product; for example, the Best Buy over in Killeen is down to the last two regular DVDs, while the Best Buy in Park Lane (re: Dallas) is down to the last two 4K sets according to the company website.
In contrast, "Captain Marvel" has been out a month and stores are still sitting on large quantities of product. In particular, individual Best Buy stores still have as many as a dozen store-exclusive steel book sets lingering about.
This is the exact opposite of their box office performances, and if you ask me raises all sorts of questions.

Who still shops at Best Buy? They have closed all the ones in my area.
One film had underestimated the customer base for discs? Without some sort of way to quantify the number of each movie that are being sold, trying to get anything meaningful from just observing how a few stores sell is pointless.
There is all sort of thing you could take form that:
Maybe Captain Marvel fans all pre-ordered copies or got it on VUDU/Amazon Prime. Maybe Alita is more geared to a narrow niche market who is more interested in collectable discs whereas Captain Marvel is targeted to a general audience that isn't as concerned about owning physical discs. Maybe Best Buys is having issues with their logistics network and is not getting materiel into stores. Maybe a buyer at Best Buy didn't think Alita would sell, so they didn't order as much, whereas they figured Captain Marvel would and planned accordingly so there would be stock of all versions on the shelf.
Just looking at what is on the shelf in one part of the country doesn't say anything.

I'm guessing it is proportionate, which means if alita did not do well in the cinema, it will take less discs sold to equate to "flying off the shelves" there are so many more numbers involved than just stock on hand.
