I think there may be one subject overlooked for inclusion in the banned topics list, not that I think that any present member will offend but you may need to consider it, as politics and religion are also covered.
Racism.
Even intellectually dispassionate discussion of scientifically supported racial differences can present opportunities for bigotry to creep in.

Can you address the quote function doing an automatic size=1 for all quotes?...
Even I am having trouble reading the quoted parts of peoples posts, and I have a slightly larger font than usual set on this screen.... (BIG screen as I sit further away..)
Can it be set that Quoted parts get the same size font as the rest of the post... the black outline is enough to tell us its a quote without having to squint at the screen.
I am getting to have to increase the font size to read quoted bits which makes the normal font too big?....

Two more thoughts. In response to SD's message I attempted to increase the font size of the quote in my previous post. It worked fine, but that post is quite old. We may want the ability to edit posts to time-out.
And... When we're taken to the page using the link in a notification email, or after a posting or editing, it takes us to the top of the page - not to the relevant post.

Did we get enough 'pure' science myths on Disco? I seem to recall that most were questions rather than ideas. There were a few, but I don't know if that was caused by the structure. IIRC the thread was called "Science myths and questions", so for people who could actually read and follow directions, they posted questions there. I usually edit within the quote, so any stuff I don't want I just prune out as I go. |

I am pruning the posts by hand, its just I use full HTML on the fly and its annoying to see stuff added when I [ctrl]+[V] things in as a paste......
