Can you add the spell check button to the quick responce? It would be much appreciated by even the literate.

No, spell check is only available using the normal reply function.
Both Chrome and Firefox have optional spell-check functions that will work with the quick reply box.

I use Comodo Dragon. It's a variant of Chrome and has a spell-checker that persistently tries to turn me into a damned Yankee but considering that this board is cosmopolitan in nature and everybody is subjected to the same spelling dictionary, I let it ride. You might, however, find yourselves subjected to the proper use of the Queen's English as, in the past, I have been educating the irritating little dumb-ass.

Perhaps renaming Kiddies corner to young scientist or Young XXXXXX where XXXXX is the name of a revered scientist who has past away.

The Firefox dictionary has an "Add to Dictionary" feature..... I have added a lot of technical terms, alternative spellings, and some urban slang over the years.... Mainly 'cos I am fed up with red squiggly lines under things I know are "Right"....

I was thinking of starting a new thread but thought it was probably best to start here instead.
Could we possibly make a help section? You know, a place where you can start a new thread to ask for help with something on the board and then just let it stay there once the problem's been resolved so others can find it if they have similar problems in the future?
I'm asking this because 1, I have a small problem of my own at the moment and 2, questions about how to do things around here are pretty much spread out all over the place right now.
Would be nice if we had a place with easy access and overview of problems posted and resolved.

How about having the 'new' button a little further away from the thread title?

How about having the 'new' button a little further away from the thread title? I think that's just how it has to be - Cyber doesn't own the boards. It's a ProBoard thing.

How's about petitioning to have the "New" button work as it should? (See the "New" thread in this forum.)

Would be nice to have the "Mark All Read" function available from the 'New Topics' page. As it is I have to go back to the 'Home' page then scroll down to the bottom to mark all read.
Yeah, I know there isn't a lot you can do with the board but it would be nice....

You'd be right watcher, there is a limit to what I can change about the board, and buttons ect are hardwired into proboards I'm afraid.

Tech Help section..... Can we have a separate board for Tech Help, to include say Update notifications such as the next Firefox (18.0.0) as available from Now?...
Also certain news of possible Java security Flaws as seen in the watercooler?....
Also a place for anyone to ask "I have this glitch...."....
A Tech Help section to cover all that takes some pressure off the Water-cooler maybe?....

Done, the Oracle now includes a Technical Aid section - this is to avoid confusion with the 'Technical Questions' board.

Do we need pinned announcements on EVERY forum section? Half of the first page in each section is announcements. Most duplicates. No one reads the forum rules anyways, but they should all go in one place.

The rules will remain board-wide announcements, so no one has any excuses for not having noticed we have rules.
I will probably create a board where interviews will be placed, rather than putting them as announcements.
*Update*
Created a new section where interviews will be posted, moved the existing interviews to that section and removed them from the board-wide announcements.
Note that only staff will be able to start threads in the new section, although members will still be able to reply to threads until or unless they are locked.

I have a suggestion for those who don't have avatars. Please get one, it gets awfully confusing when there are so many silhouettes.
