Blue Bird just announced that 3 point belts and driver's airbag will be standard on every new school bus they build. I never understood why school buses are exempt from seatbelt laws altogether. Good lobbying I guess.

Good lobbying I guess. I think it has been partly just acceptance of the argument that you can't make kids wear them properly; and a degree of faith that bus crashes are rare.. from my youth, bus seating systems have been designed to minimize impact harm for unbelted kids; and until a good three point belt system could be developed, a lap belt, alone, would be worse than nothing in a front impact.

Good to see they got Ad Block working on YouTube again. We'll see how long it lasts. they seem to go in cycles. on my computer, it will load ads and then skip them, then run normally, then lag like a Ford Turbo, then get back to normal, and repeat.

Looks like they let the ad load and then bypass it somehow. The lag seems to be when youtube tries to run an ad in the middle of what you're watching.

I can type something in youtube, and then drop over here and have things normal, then go back and it is still putting up the individual letters in my comment, there.

I haven't noticed that with the latest version of ad block. I believe the latest version has a June 14th release date.

OK.
I get summoned for county jury duty today.
I'm in the foyer of the county courthouse waiting. We were supposed to show up at 8:30 AM, but it's about 9:10 before they start calling us to actually enter the courtroom for jury selection.
Under the circumstances, I'm not in a hurry to go inside. Further, my decision to stand near a trash can because my allergies are acting up & I'm going through tissues means that I'm also in an odd alcove where I can't really turn without potentially bumping in to other people. So, I get the feeling that it's best if I just wait a little bit and go in near the end of the group.
Well, about 75% of the entire assemblage in the foyer gets into the courtroom, then the line suddenly stops. That's when one of the deputies working security at the courthouse explains that the actual courthouse is full, and so the rest of us are free to go once we hand in our summons cards to prove that we appeared.
So yeah, I basically got out of jury duty by being slow to queue up.

So yeah, I basically got out of jury duty by being slow to queue up. not at all how the selection process works here. It varies. The one and only time I was called in to serve in a city court case, about the time lunch rolled around the judge and the involved parties looked around at who was left after all of the initial dismissals, decided there were more than enough, and so those of us sitting in the back rows were excused, thereby allowing the court to try the case after lunch. With district court, I've sat twice for selection. The first time was similar, with the judge and the lawyers deciding that they had more than enough potential jurors that those of us who were sitting in the far part of the courtroom were allowed to just go; I had actually originally been seated in the center section, but because I couldn't quite *fit* into the narrow seat I asked the bailiff if I could move to some place more comfortable, which is how I wound up in that section. The second time I went in on a Monday with a previously scheduled dental appointment for that Thursday; when the judge admitted that the trial could go all week, I got that exemption.
